Referred to as oud, Marc Avento Oud originates from the wood of the Southeast Asian agar tree. When this wood is affected by a specific mold, it generates a dark, fragrant resin often referred to as "liquid gold." Oud denotes both the resin-infused wood (agarwood) and the distilled oil from it. Its rarity contributes to its high cost; less than 2% of wild agar trees produce it, making oud a prized and precious commodity.
